Iñigo Berzal holds many fond memories of spending the afternoons as a child at the vineyards with his family, including the time he ended up stuck in a well. His mother had warned him several times not to jump on the hatch, but that didn´t stop him. It’s with that curiosity, bravery and rebelliousness that he runs the winery today, along with his two older brothers.
The groundwork for the winery was laid by his father and mother, and in 1999 the three brothers took the reins and moved into a new winery in order to continue growing and expanding. Today, Dominio de Berzal boasts of modern installations and 50 hectares.
The constant drive to evolve and reinvent themselves every year is what distinguishes Domino de Berzal from the rest. The brothers have established their winery as one that is modern yet serious, always open to trying new things.
The three brothers created a wine in honor of their mother Gloria, who would walk 5 kilometers to the vineyards and back just to bring their father lunch. The wine is made entirely of Graciano grapes, which Iñigo explains is a good representation of his mother due to its ¨strength and personality¨.
If you happen to stop by the winery, ask Jose Luis to show you the best views in the area. You won’t be disappointed!
